The iPad could just be the best way in the world to read all about the Web on your couch, watch some movies on a train, and read in total darkness, but with use of an iPad app. Your iPad can also takes on thousands of other uses. Sixty thousand uses, to be exact; (the number of iPad-specific apps in the iTunes App Store as of January 2011). Which of course, isn’t forgetting the 300,000 iPhone and iPod apps it can also run. And unless you plan to download and try 10 apps a day over the next 16 years (at which point, although we are just guessing, there might be a few more apps to try), you might need some help sifting through all the iPad apps available. And this is the point where e we come in. Now we haven’t gone through every single iPad app, but we have sifted through the debris, weeded out all the duds and plucked out the little gems to bring you this list some of our favourite iPad apps available; more specifically, those little games that will keep you going for that top score. We’re talking about more than minutes of madness, this is hours of entertainment, doing nothing but wasting valuable hours and countless calories (but then what’s life for?)
Fruit Ninja
Fruit Ninja is a game that is unexplainably addictive (despite being incredibly simple.) Who would ever find out that a game essentially allowing a user to slice and dice flying fruit salad, would be such a hit? But here you have it. All you need to do is simply pick your blade and drag your finger across the iPad screen to chop through mid-air pieces of fruit.
Dungeon Hunter 2
If there ever truly was an iPad app which bumped its shoulders begging itself to get an upgrade from that 3.5-inch screen, this is it. Dungeon Hunter 2 gives you an iPad app with outstanding experience with better graphics and game play which can only be achieved on the bigger screen. The wider screen means that this iPad app can be used with more potential reached and you don’t get that awkward feeling of being so squashed. Still a few improvements, but a big step has been made with this iPad app.
Harbour Master
Harbour Master can immediately stand out to anyone wanting to get an iPad app, but the most important reason is that it’s free! Yes it is Flight Control but with boats, but unlike Flight Control HD it is 100% free. Your finger swipes to control the never-ending stream of boats dropping off cargo into a crowded port. And while the old version had a tiny stream of water, the new version offers a massive ocean of fun, and being free just gives you that feel-good feeling.
